C3 Tours the Wisconsin Automtoive Museum in Hartford
A big group of C3ers along with their families and friends had a fine outing in Hartford, WI, hometown of the Kissel automobile, on November 12th. First we all met at the Mineshaft restaurant for breakfast, then it was off to the Wisconsin Automotive Museum a couple blocks away. The museum is home to the Nash Car Club of America display, the Southeastern Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame (C3er Dick Duston is former short track champion and a member), and #1003 Soo Line Steam Locomotive, a 1913 ALCO Mikado. Of course we checked out all of these exhibits plus all the other cars and automobilia on display at the facility.
Then we went outside the museum to watch the Soo Steamer do a photo run-by on the way into town to deliver Santa to a crowd of excited children. Speaking of trains, the museum also features a marvelous replica of a Lionel factory showroom layout on the in the first floor diplay area.
